Maybe you have already ordered an embosser - either from me or from another source - or perhaps you are thinking about purchasing one but you are wondering how exactly you would actually use it. It is one thing to look at lovely images of beautifully embossed paper, but naturally, you want to be sure that it is something that you will actually use.

Clearly I am a fan of embossing and getting creative with how to use them, and I will share more ideas and projects , but I wanted to start with a few of the tried and true basics.

Here are three easy ways to use your paper embosser to incorporate an embossed element to your project.

On an Envelope Flap

An embossed motif on the point of an envelope flap is certainly one of the most widely seen applications - and rightly so - it looks beautiful! While it is always a good thing to think creatively and to innovate (hello to all of you Enneagram fours), sometimes things are classic and favored for a reason. An embossed envelope flap will always be lovely.

On the top of a card

Whether you are a wedding invitation designer, creating a bridal shower or birthday invitation, or simply embellishing your own personal stationery, an embossed emblem at the top of a card always looks polished. This can be a delicate motif that is carried throughout a wedding suite, a simple design that fits the theme of a party, or an intricate monogram. It adds an intentional detail while maintaining simplicity as the design is textural.

To Create Personalized Stationery

You can use an embosser to effortlessly create bespoke personal stationery - for a fraction of the cost of more expensive, custom-designed letterpress paper goods. Pairing lovely paper - I love a simple cotton ( 1 | 2 ) card stock or delicate handmade paper ( 1 | 2 | 3 ) - with one of the lovely designs in the shop, you can then emboss the paper and the envelope flap to produce elegant cards sets, either for yourself or for a gift. This can also be a fantastic idea for your business stationery if you are a small business owner who wants to elevate your brand without overspending.

I will be sharing more ideas of how to incorporate embossing into your projects and different ways to use paper embossers over the coming months. I hope that these ideas piqued your interest tl learn more - or to get creative on your own!
